Risks of Riding Conventional Bike Seats

“Why would any rational human being want to put a 150-pound weight on these structures?”
asks Dr. Irwin Goldstein

"...when a man straddles a traditional narrow saddle, there is no blood flow to the penis."
Dr. Irwin Goldstein

MALE cyclists are the most susceptible to painful pressure on the perineum area. Current research studies from leading urologists documented that sitting on a conventional triangular shaped bicycle seat with just 12% of the rider's weight can compress the penile arteries causing impotency in men

straddling a conventional bicycle seat pinches the penile arteries and after a period of time the rider can do permanent damage to themselves; even causing erectile dysfunction

Conventional saddles can cause vaginal nerve damage in WOMEN

  • Conventional saddles can also cause vaginal irritation, painful urination, inflammation of the prostate, and chafing

  • 94% of males who engaged in “extensive off-road biking” showed scrotal abnormalities – compared to 16% of nonbikers (journal Radiology, April 2003) Please click HERE to read entire article, Riding Rough: New Evidence Continues to Link Biking to Impotence by Jim Thornton
